LINKIN PARK Got 'Overwhelming Love' From Japanese Fans
October 31, 2006LINKIN PARK recently spoke to AOL Music about their one-off headlining appearance at Japan's Summer Sonic Festival after spending much of 2006 writing and recording their next album. How was it for them, being onstage after such a long hiatus?
"At this point we never intended to be off as long as we have been, so I think that's a good thing," bass player Phoenix told AOL Music. "We're completely rejuvenated. We're excited about getting out to play live again, excited to have fans hear the new stuff and also excited to play the old stuff again."
Mike Shinoda said that after the long break from the public eye, the band didn't know what to expect. "When we were there, it was a weird feeling. It's a festival crowd, you don't know who's stuck around to watch you, we haven't had a record out in a while, so it's like, 'What are we in for?'" he recalled. "The love we got from the crowd was so overwhelming. They watched the whole show, sang every word, and it's a great feeling to know they're really still with us."
